What is the penalty for late VAT registration in the UAE?

AED 10,000 for failing to register for VAT within the required time. The same AED 10,000 penalty applies to late Corporate Tax registration.

What is the penalty for filing a VAT return late?

AED 1,000 for the first late return, and AED 2,000 for each repeat within 24 months.

How is the late payment penalty calculated?

From 14 April 2026, unpaid VAT and Corporate Tax attract a late payment penalty of 14% a year, charged monthly on the amount still unpaid. This replaced the old VAT system of 2% on day one plus 4% a month after.

What is the penalty for a late Corporate Tax return?

AED 500 for each month or part month the return is late during the first 12 months, then AED 1,000 a month from the 13th month.
